3 NEW FOOD PRODUCTS ON THE SCENE
August 14, 2013 By Linda Arceo
I often get asked to try new products of all varieties. My favorite types of products to try are new food products. I like to be in-the-know when it comes to new items people can find in their local grocery stores or on-line. This post covers three new food products on the scene and worth checking out: Heluva Good! Greek Style Yogurt Dip; Nektar Honey Crystals and Saint Lucifer Spice.
1. Heluva Good! Greek Style Yogurt Dip:
The latest product to join the Heluva! Good family of products is this Greek Style Yogurt Dip. This product combines the bold flavor you come to expect from Heluva Good! combined with the popular creaminess of greek yogurt. Available in four flavors: French Onion, Herb Ranch, Southwestern Chipotle and Fire Roasted Vegetables. We tried to the French Onion and the Fire Roasted Vegetables flavors.
With all of the fresh vegetables available in the summer, Heluva Good! Greek Style Yogurt Dip can be served with your favorite crudite or use it like I did in place of sour cream or mayonnaise. I used the dips to prepare tuna fish sandwiches and replaced the mayonnaise with the greek style yogurt dip. I also served it on top of a soft chicken taco instead of using traditional sour cream. The creaminess of the Heluva Good’s! Greek Style Yogurt Dip proved to be a perfect replacement for mayonnaise and sour cream and in some ways was even better because of the added flavors the dip offered.
The greek style yogurt dip can be found in your dairy aisles. My local grocery store had them on special last week for 2 for $5. According to Heluva Good! Heluva Good! Greek Yogurt Style Dip contains 2.5g of fat and 40 calories per 2 Tbsp serving.
2. Nektar Honey Crystals:
These little packets of honey goodness are pretty interesting. Each packet of honey crystals contains the equivalent amount of 1 teaspoon of liquid honey, offering the convenience andshelf stability of honey without the sticky mess. In addition to their portability, Nektar Honey Crystals are gluten-free, GMO free, Kosher, Contains Antioxidants, Contains Electrolytes, Heat Stable and TSA Safe. Nektar Honey Crystals can be used in hot and cold beverages, hot or cold cereals, baked goods, meats and poultry and as a natural sports drink. Nektar Honey Crystals can be found at a market near you. Keep an eye out for them!
We particularly enjoyed Nektar Honey Crystals on our cold cereals, on fresh fruit for added sweetness, in Iced Teas and my little guy liked to put them in his water. The honey crystals are so versatile. My friend Cindy, over at Whatever Works, got really creative and used Nektar Honey Crystals in a her barbecued ribs recipe. She was nice enough to let me share her recipe. They look delicious! Click here and give her some love.
3. Saint Lucifer Spice:
You all know I have an affinity for local-fare and products so when the Philly fellas over at Saint Lucifer Spice asked me to try out their product, I just had to say yes. Boy am I glad I did! I am all about the grilling this time of the year and everyone knows the key to a great grilled meats and poultry is the perfect spice rub. I used Saint Lucifer Spice on a whole chicken and threw it on the grill. With minimal effort on my part, I was able to reap the rewards of my husband raving about how great the chicken was.
Saint Lucifer is a seasoning blend that includes garlic, salt, vinegar, and fiery habanero peppers. This spice blend helps to create bold, complex, savory flavors and unleashes the hidden pleasures of any food. I can’t wait to try Saint Lucifer Spice on pasta, pizza, seafood and eggs.
